Cgi Daleks and More

The starting of my CGI!

This was the very first film I did on Anim8or, so it goes on the website first!
It took me a day to make the dalek models, which I though was very good considering that I had got the program the day before!

A true clip

This was the first bit of CGI that I did with sound and effects.

It stars my models that were based on the dalek invasion of earth television serial.

They are a bit out dated now but they were my best models at the time of filming this!

All 'after editing' was done in Wax 2.0
Another lovely free program!

First 'Real' CGI

The first time I tried putting CGI onto a real background, this it from a picture.
It is of my NSD model, made a bit before lots of my other 'new' models.
And to do a shadow, I actually made the shape of the shadow as an object with a little transparency.

Lights

As Anim8or users will tell you, lights are a fiddly subject.
They are hard to control and take forever to learn how to use properly, and it is hard to tell the difference between someone who is brilliant with  lights or someone who is pretty average with them.

So I though for the best effects and hopefully fast renders, I would use the ambiance settings on the light casings.
Unfortunately, you can't change materials in a scene, but you can use morph targets.
To make the lights work I made 2 sets of lights, one set were dull and one set were very bright, I made 2 morph targets to go with these lights as well, for the 1st morph target the dull lights were where the normal lights on a dalek are and the luminescent lights were the same shape but of a smaller size and inside the daleks dull lights. For the 2nd morph Target I increased the size of the luminescent lights so the dull lights were on the inside. in the scene I just changed between morph targets and got the effect I desired.

New shadows

This was me testing my new shadows technique which some people came up with on the Project Dalek Forum.
The Dalek is in front of a green screen sitting on a green block.
It is then chroma keyed onto the scene twice, once for the background, second to make the shadow black, not a dark green.

Laser Test

The laser!
Something that has been really difficult to produce!
It is actually a transparent, red cigar shaped object, it is going fast enough that you don't see it for what it really is!

My real dalek

A clip from the Northcote Leaders website which shows off my full size dalek.
It is in the Northcote Plaza attacking passers by.
Oh that was a fun day!

And he is called Gerald!

Birthday Clip

A small clip I made for my Birthday.
I think it turned out rather well!

Feel free to use it in any way you wish!

Dalek Lightning Test

This was ANOTHER test of one of my models, this time the model was a dalek from death to the daleks. And it is the scene where the two daleks are in the exhillion city and are being zapped by lightning, although there is only one dalek in this render.

ANOTHER shadow test!

I am always doing tests and this is the newest one (when I am writing this at least)!
This is trying out my new method of making shadows in anim8or onto pictures and making them look real.
I will possibly post a tutorial on how I did this soon but let me reassure you, it takes a lot more then 1 render!

Website Add

An add I made for this website so I could stick it places!
Unfortunately for some reason it is hard to see what it says!

Tread/Track Test

This is a test of my new method for making treads/tracks/conver belts.
