Cgi Daleks and More

Here is a new comments system. If it works properly then your comments should show up here. That way if you have an idea then everyone can see it and it will make it a LOT easier for me to remember it (I'm only human). Please don't let the fact that your comment will be live deviate you from posting. Please do, I love getting comments and ideas!
You also have to click on "New Comments System" above. It opens a little thing that shows you all the comments and lets you make one!
I have also kept the old style in case you really would like your comment to be private.

Seeing as the founder of thesite is frequently busy and thus unable to update the site, maybe he could delegate some of the update duty to us. I mean I have just downloaded pepkura designer so I can make templates fairly quickly now, but my upload earlier this year still isn't up.
Also it would encourage users to make more cg vids if they could be uploaded here without too much hastle.

Sorry it is seen that way.
I have to maintain 4 websites, and a forum.
As well as a new forum in the works, along with some films, new models, the dalek saga series, and a couple of books...
So yeah, lots constantly going on, and I would love to delegate some work, but it is a non-sharable site. I mean, I can't just give access to the site without you having access to ALL of my other things...not just including sites...
Good to see people look at the site though, and I shall upload your model immediately (I just need a reminder every now and again).

Thanks and you'll be pleased to know that I'm currently busy making daleks. but once I've mastered the rigging and all. I'll post a new one with more accurate templates, daleks and a snazzy cover.
I didn't realise you were so busy but now I have I'll be more patient. Would you mind posting links to these other sites?

Sorry, If I knew how I would go about it (I might know), I would not have the time! I am finding myself running from room to room these days so as to not waste mere seconds! :O
But I can recomend this anim8or site:
http://daleks.adambullock.com/models/models.html
My models are a lot more accurate, but he has a larger selection, including people (I can't face going there).
He also taught me how to make a mechonoid when I was just starting!
So both our sites are good.

Howdy, I run a papercraft blog, and am interested in turning your animated models into papercraft. There's a lot of interest buzzing around /po/, and I know many people would be happy to see these models finished.

Let me know if you'll give your approval (you don't need to do any work).

Thanks

Sounds excelent.
I tried making papercrafts myself. I was't very good at them and had way too many other thinngs to be going on with to give them enough time.
Go on right ahead. Just give us links to them here. We would all love to see and use them!
(Could you also put links to this site? I will probably give your models a page here, and advertising is always good).

Could you please make some Emperor Guards in the dalek saga then post the model on this site! Please!

Fri, 28 Aug 2009 00:42:03

Well,
I have already finished filming the last episode of the first series (not sure where to go after that, as the story isn't over), and there are no Guards in it...

BUT there is a brandspanking new dalek, and it is made of pure awesomeness!!!!!!
Truly!!!
So there is something great in store, but I will get around to guards in the story later.

Hey!
(i sent an old style comment by mistake so i'll send you it again)
I love your videos! your site has inspired me to create new 3d dalek movies! Thanks! I was wondering whether you could put those wonderful terrain and ships on the site for download. I'll give you credit of course! You've inspired me to create a similar dalek series. But it will be in the view of a dalek troop in a stalemate battle with the mechanoids! Thanks again for the inspiration!

I am not sure if I could.
And the sets are all pretty horrible, they are mainly created by placing a whole bunch of slightly edited cubes together (saves time).
I am sure you could make much better sets and environments then I could.

Ah ok. I just find it difficult to create things really. (I made a floor once). And i to use figures and sequences.
I have download the NSD daleks, NSS dalek and the 70's dalek but the Nss dalek and 70's dalek don't have a figure (which the nsd dalek has) (well at least i couldn't find one). Anyway, i was wondering whther it could be possible to include figures with them.
It might not matter however as i am going to try and research figures so i might be able to make them my self.
Thanks again! Sorry for being a hassle!

Thu, 19 Nov 2009 02:21:29

Ah, i have found a supreme dalek figure, and the 70's dalek one. Sorry about the first message! If your thinking im a noob then i don't blame you. I am.
Sorry again!!!

Thu, 19 Nov 2009 19:22:55

Ah,
glad you found them!
Well if you are going to be using Anim8or, I suggest you really try to come to grips with how to use it.
I had never used a 3d program before, and I learn how to model my first dalek in 1 day...okay the dalek wasn't the best, but it didn't take long to improve either.

So give it a try, Anim8or is wonderfully easy! :-D

Sun, 22 Nov 2009 01:02:30

Im ok with the anim8or software, just new to figures and sequences. I've created a few movies already, none of them any good But i'm getting better! :)

Sun, 22 Nov 2009 07:34:51

I have been using several objects and figures you have created and they are brilliant! However i have not been able to open both, say, the dalek saga figures and NSD daleks at the same time. Is there a way to allow me to open them at the same time without them effecting eash other?

PS: they effect each other with things like the gun, plunger and eye stalk. And may end up with those components having odd sizes; huge or tiny.
